Upstate Warrior Solution

Upstate Warrior Solution (UWS) is a community-based nonprofit that provides case management and connective services to military veterans, first responders, and their families living in the Upstate of South Carolina. 

In her five years with UWS, Catherine held roles in community engagement, partner relations, and finally as their first marketing director. She came to UWS at an exciting time for the organization and got to operate in the heart of their work. From interviewing clients to mapping out strategic communications plans, Catherine fell in love with nonprofit marketing at UWS.

Some highlights include:

• Crafting messaging for a multi-million dollar capital campaign and the launch of the Rupert Huse Veteran Center, a 60,000 square foot collaborative hub for veteran resources.

• Developing consistent branding and messaging across social media, e-mail, blog, website, and print marketing.

• Strengthening relationships with donors and strategic partners through producing UWS's annual reports to the community.

• Refining messaging and creating promotion campaigns for new program to expand services to police, fire fighters, and EMS.

• Producing dozens of interview-based articles highlighting organizational impact on local veterans and first responders.
